Added 11/11/2008 – Caiden and Koel’s story is going to diverge at this point. Please use the NEW hub site to get to their new story, which WILL start updating this week. I owe two updates this week.
D’oh… I forgot what I was doing.
In response to the posts:
With how the shivae culture generally works, the father will drive away males that are unfit for his daughters, often quite visciously. Young males are usually sent out on their own while the females remain with the parents. Typically, I think I’ve noted this elsewhere as well, a male will court a female by joining her clan with initial approval from the father where they begin bonding. They will normally stay with the family, hunt with them and help raise a clutch of eggs, which is at what point Caiden and Koel were kind of at, learning to be parents.
There’s a huge problem if the male is crippled in any way and cannot overcome a serious injury or has some other odd behaviour that the father disapproves of. Mother and father both stand as judge to a young male and a male who does not take the hint to leave can be mauled. Losing a limb is a severe crippling injury in the eyes of a shivae, since it cuts down on the ability of a male or a female to provide.
Shivae crippled in such ways typically remain with or return to their own families if they can where they are taken care of, but they never get out on their own or start a family.

Soo.. if I were to DO a little 6″ or 8″ resin statue, who would you like to see it done of?
I ask, because I assumed that Artsangel’s Jonas Statue was a Gensen figure and then discovered that Patch Together is now doing ON DEMAND items. I had seen the site before, when it was new and didn’t have a lot there.
Obviously, fully painted resin figures are not cheap. You can get an idea of the prices currently on their On Demand section and then let me know if you’re interested.
I’m trying something different. Comics do have the days they’re SUPPOSED to update, but the order that I do them in is usually not the day before they’re done. I use the weekends to color. So I’ve decided to start doing the comics depending on any donations toward them. Comics which get a donation are moved to the front of my work queue and put in order by how much total they’ve received during the week. The week starts on Monday when I’m hopefully done coloring.
If I’m not done by Monday, it won’t update. The order in which I work on can be changed at any time, even while I’m coloring. I will switch to working on a different comic if I get a donation for another one that pushes the tally higher than the one that I am working on.
I will keep the most current tally on the hub site for ease in updating and probably put a little note up on the side bar sometime this weekend concerning the rankings. My goal IS to have all comics done and I can do it. I’ve done it before. But sometimes illness from someone in the family or other family events take precedence over getting work done.

Shivae! has already benefitted from this last week AND this week.
Sorry that it’s taking me so long to get these pages out. I just don’t have time to color it and still have *counts* 4 pages to color. When those are done, I will be updating black and white pages twice a week. I’m going to be taking a LOT of the comics into black and white so I can update more frequently and avoid long delays.
While I have half a dozen pages left to do, I’ve run out of scripts!
So, I’m going to let you guys choose. You have until Friday to either click a button on the poll or comment to this post. The three arcs are:
Caiden and Koel – Which will obviously only focus on those two and be in black and white, except for a short few pages to summarize the events that led up to here.
Back to Cler – Basically, a continuation of the story with the rest of the Clan, minus Koel and Caiden.
Back to Vas – The storytelling continues.
